PURETi and NOx reduction
NOx is an indirect greenhouse gas and a key ingredient in acid rain and smog.
Independent lab results (link to 5.1 Queens IPS NOX) have shown that PURETi treated surfaces can eliminate 75% of the NOx that passes over them, in the presence of UVA light.University studies(link to 5.1) have shown surface-applied PURETi to be 2-9x more effective at removing NOx than embedded smog eating cement, depending on environmental conditions. One lane mile of PURETi treated road can remove one ton of NOx from the atmosphere every year.
If one car emits 1.4 grams of NOx for every mile driven, this is the equivalent of eliminating a polluting effect of 52 cars driving over 650,000 miles, every year.
Treating enough surface on an office campus, including the roof, solar panels, windows, and facades, can offset the polluting effect of every car in the parking lot commuting to and from the building.
